Youth Workforce Development Conference

News about the 2010 Pathfinders Conference
Youth Track to be Held April 22, 2010
Adult Track Postponed Until 2011
The Pathfinders Conference has a reputation for delivering a quality professional development experience for youth workforce development professionals and a meaningful career exploration and job-readiness experience for area youth. Due to the strained fundraising environment caused by current economic conditions, we have decided to postpone the adult track portion of Pathfinders for this year and resume once again in 2011.
But the conference is not canceled. Instead, we are making service to youth a priority. We are pleased that, with a generous gift from Allegheny County Department of Human Services and support from The August Wilson Center, YouthWorks and Urban Youth Action will present the youth track portion of Pathfinders this April.
This year we are excited to hold the event in the beautiful August Wilson Center in downtown Pittsburgh (please note change of location from previous years). Youth will have an opportunity to participate in experiential learning in a creative and fun atmosphere and gain new skills in career goal setting, job search techniques, workplace etiquette and interview skills. They will also meet and hear from young people who have used those skills to find success in life.
