Ready to Work Summer Employment Program 2010
During the Summer of 2010, 259 Youth from around Allegheny County participated in our summer internship program through YouthWorks. Once they were made eligible for the program, they completed our job-readiness and career exploration training called JumpStart Success. Once successfully completing the training, they were matched with a local organization or company that we have partnered with for the summer. Each youth started on their six week internship clocking up to 120 hours throughout those weeks. Through the hard work of the youth, employers and YouthWorks staff members, our summer resulted in the following successes:
*Nearly 30,400 hours were clocked throughout the summer
*Earning approximately $220,400 in gross wages
