The AUNO program includes paid JumpStart Success job-readiness training; individualized career planning and job search assistance; financial literacy and entrepreneurship enrichment sessions; as well as direct connections to hiring employers and post secondary schools. Pathways to Careers
Pathways to Careers is a community focused project funded by the Jewish Healthcare Foundation and the United Way of Allegheny County, designed to open the world of careers to ninth grade students. YouthWorks (YW) is pleased to announce Langley High School (a Pittsburgh Public School) as the focal point of its Pathways to Careers initiative.
September kicked off a year-long program of school-based and work-based learning activities at Langley: YouthWorks’ Cool Hot Jobs Workshop Series and job tour highlighting various healthcare careers; college visits; and job shadowing. Makes you wish you were in 9th grade again, huh?!
Our hope is to learn promising practices that can implemented further with additional youth. Interested volunteers should contact Tiara Whitfield, Program Manager of Workforce Development, at 412-281-6629, x208 or at thwhitfield@youthworksinc.org.
