Employment and Internship Opportunities
Community Based Employment
YouthWorks funds work experiences at area community based organizations to support year-round career exploration and development programs for youth ages 14 - 25. These programs provide initial work experiences and training for youth where they receive an hourly wage or stipend. The types of opportunities and workplace experiences vary by program. Youth benefit from this first-time work experience by learning workplace etiquette, communications skills, basic computer skills, job search strategies and interview experience. They also prepare a career plan for the next ten years.
To find out how to become eligible, call YouthWorks at (412) 281-6629.
Internships in the Business Community
For youth between the ages of 16 and 25 who complete YouthWorks' JumpStart Success career exploration and job readiness program. We arrange for both summer and year-round internship experiences with local employers. These jobs are career oriented and reflect a variety of non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses.
