Resources for Career & Work Education
YouthWorks is committed to educators, nonprofits and community-based organizations by supporting their efforts to help develop work-readiness, career exploration and post-graduation plans for youth and teens. Whether you are a principal, teacher, guidance counselor or administrator, we understand the challenges you are facing—your students need to be prepared for life after high school.
We have a curriculum, activities and resources to help develop a post-graduation plan for teenagers and youth. And with JumpStart Success, our career exploration and work-readiness curriculum, they will prepare for this next phase of life after high school with a step-by-step personal career development plan for youth that includes hands-on activities.
You can enhance your career and work education programs for your students by utilizing a number of effective YouthWorks services including:
JumpStart Success (JSS), YouthWorks’ signature career exploration and job readiness training curriculum ensures that our region’s youth are prepared for entry-level jobs and have an individualized career plan.
Age Up, Not Out (AUNO), in collaboration with Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JF&CS), AUNO is a comprehensive program to help youth emancipated from the foster care system become economically successful through work-readiness and career exploration.
Group Home Trainings offer youth currently involved in the foster care system an introduction to JSS to begin preparing them for the world of work.
HIRE Me is an afterschool program that prepares high school students for the world of work. Participants complete JSS, attend a job tour and job shadow experience. Students also participate in career mentoring and engage in a service-learning project.
HIRE (Hiring Initiative to Ready future Employees) is the capstone experience for YouthWorks’ participants, connecting them with quality internship and employment opportunities within corporate, government and nonprofit organizations.
